About Me

I'm Allen and this is Exile Models. I'm an Exile because I originate from Yorkshire but live in the Forest of Dean in  England.

On this website I will be making kits available to purchase that you can assemble and use on your model railways or dioramas.

These will primarily be laser cut kits, that I design myself, but may include externally sourced 3D printed parts for instance.

As a child in the 70s and 80s my dad was a bit of a trainspotter and we would travel all around the UK to various train stations and heritage railways, by the time I was 12 a love of the railways was embedded into me. Later I would put it aside to become a software developer.

As time passed wandering around the paths and towns, I fell in love with the rich industrial architecture that we have such a lot of in the UK.

So naturally when I got into model making the railways and associated structures were what I wanted to portray.

My models are largely approximations rather than exact replicas and sometimes come entirely out of my own observations / mind.
